Homeland of the jalapeno pepper (Capsicum Annuum) is Mexico. Widely produced as green, rarely ripe red, the jalapeno pepper is named after the Jalapa, where it was traditionally grown in Veracruz, Mexico. Between 2,500 and 8,000 Scoville has bitterness units.
Production process is carried out in the field and in greenhouses in the winter period in our country. Jalapeno pepper planted from seedling comes to harvest 90 days after planting. 3.500-3.600 seedlings per decare (1000 m2) with 1.8 m row spacing and 30 cm row spacing in Adana region, and 4.700-4.800 seedlings per decare (1000 m2) with 70 cm row spacing of 30 cm in other regions.
